Vampire Counts and Flames of War: Early War French Foreign Legion

This week I have finished off 2 Vampire Count characters and Adam Carr's first two Foreign Legion platoons.
He has just dropped off another Sapper platoon, which should be finished in a forthnight.
It looks like March and April French WWII will be flavor of the month(s), since I will also be starting Gary Punch's French Infantry army for France 1940 and i'll try to add a few of my own motorcycle and Panhard AMD 35 platoons in the mix.

Vampire Counts

I have painted these for Graham Parr, as well as a load of skeletons and Grave Guard, plus a few of the new mounted models (sorry, no pics of that first lot).
Graham plays "Hordes of the Things" (HOTT) rules, that's why the bases may look a bit odd to the WHFB player.
Although I play the WHFB game less and less, I do have to say that these new kits, especially the larger ones like the Coven Throne, are fantastic to paint, and may take a lot of time to put together, but the pieces fit 100% without any problems!

 

Project: 40K Ork Trukk

Jurryt asked me to put some pics on the blog of the Trukk I painted for him. The following pics show the project, step by step:

First pics were taken after the model was assembled, undercoated in black primer, fully drybrushed with boltgun metal, and panels were picked out with Mechrite Red.

Next, the red panels received a coat of Vallejo Flat Red

Then, parts were picked out in GW Foundation Iyanden Yellow

Followed by Vallejo Felat Yellow

Vallejo Brass was used to give all of the brass/golden parts a coat.

Then, a few panels were picked out and received a few coats of white

These panels were then filled in with a very thin permanent marker, to create the checkered effect.

Once this was done, I added some weathering to the trukk by drybrushing small parts with boltgun to show the metal underneath the paint where the trukk had been hit and dented in the past.

Here you see the model fully finished, with all crew painted. After this, the whole trukk and crew received a generous coat of ArmyPainter Dark, followed be a few coats of matt varnish to get rid of the gloss.

Why this Blog...?

After toying around for a while with a website that shows my paintwork, it seemed like a good idea to join those images with some more information on the project I'm running or involved with.
By all means, do not expect this to be a blog that will be updated or expended multiple times a day, I just don't have the time (or will) for that.
Instead, this will be a plce where you can read (or leave) after-action reports and/or remarks, as well as have a look at the images of said competitions and games.
Main focus will be on Flames of War, as well as some other projects I'm working on at the moment.
